Tree and Landscape Map
In order to let the general public have a better understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the landscape and green spaces in the built-up areas of Hong Kong, the GLTM Section has initiated a documentation of these landscaped and greened spaces and compiled them according to the electoral boundary of the 18 districts. The publication is prepared from the perspective of greening, with a lively approach to introduce special trees, unique landscape design and green spaces of each district to promote visit to these attractions.
The Tree and Landscape Map covers various landscape and greening attractions that are publicly accessible and are not limited to open spaces under government management. Privately owned attractions that are accessible to the general public are also included. Apart from open spaces, the map series also covers the special Old and Valuable Trees, elegant landscape trees, lush avenue trees, unique stone wall trees, promenades, big lawn areas, etc. so as to enrich the map content. The public can make reference to the booklets and plan a day trip to visit the green spaces introduced in the Tree and Landscape Map, or visit some of the lesser known green spaces in the city.
The Tree and Landscape Map has been launched on 8 October 2012 by the Development Bureau and soft copy of the full series (18 booklets) is available at the Greening website (www.greening.gov.hk ), with direct link below:
Chinese version: http://www.greening.gov.hk/tc/people_tree_harmony/tree_landscape_map.html
English version: http://www.greening.gov.hk/en/people_tree_harmony/tree_landscape_map.html
